Suns Receiving 'Aggressive Trade Calls' On Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has not requested a trade from the Phoenix Suns and has been somewhat blindsided by reports that they have even entertained offers for him. The Suns and Golden State Warriors held talks this week, but Durant expressed his preference not to be traded back to his former franchise.

Now, there are several teams continuing to call the Suns about Durant’s potential availability ahead of the trade deadline.

“From what I’m told, there are multiple teams making aggressive trade calls on Kevin Durant,” said Shams Charania at the start of the NBA Today Trade Deadline special.

Durant is eligible for a contract extension this offseason as he would otherwise become a free agent in 2026. The Suns began to consider their trade options on Durant after they were unable to find a trade partner involving Bradley Beal that would allow them to add Jimmy Butler alongside him and Devin Booker.

Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 36.2 minutes in 39 games this season with the Suns. Durant is making $51.2 million this season and is owed $54.7 million next season.
