The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to trade Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and second round draft compensation.
The Bucks drop below the second apron with the trade, while agreeing to swap picks with the Wizards in 2028.
Kuzma turned down the opportunity to be traded by the Wizards to the Dallas Mavericks at last season’s trade deadline. Kuzma is averaging 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27.7 minutes across 30 games this season with a career low PER of 10.7. Kuzma gives the Bucks additional size in comparison to Middleton.
Middleton has averaged 12.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 23.2 minutes over 23 games this season since returning from double ankle surgery.
Johnson was the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Bucks. Johnson has appeared in seven games with the Bucks along with 15 in the G League where he is averaging 13.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 28.1 minutes.
