Chris Paul Agrees To Move $30M Guarantee Date To June 30 As Warriors Continue To Pursue Trade

Chris Paul and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to move back his $30 million guarantee date to the start of free agency on Sunday, June 30th. The deadline was originally on Friday.

This decision allows the Warriors to continue to explore trade possibilities such as a deal for Paul George. The Warriors are known to have “legitimate interest” in trading for George, who has until Saturday to opt-in to his contract for 24-25.

If Paul is traded, his $30 million contract becomes guaranteed. If Paul becomes a free agent, his salary for the 24-25 season will surely be far lower than that amount after averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 26.4 minutes over 58 games with the Warriors.

Paul is represented by Steven Heumann and Ty Sullivan of CAA. George also has a CAA agent in Aaron Mintz.
