Gary Payton II recently returned to the Golden State Warriors lineup. Unfortunately, that return may be short-lived. Payton suffered a strained left hamstring in the Warriors win over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. He left the floor and was very quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.
Payton had just returned the game prior from a torn right calf that cost him a month of action. Overall, Payton has played in 16 games this season, after appearing in only 22 games last season.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he has his “fingers crossed” that this won’t be another long-term injury for Payton.
