Rodgers hopped on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET and made it clear from the get go that this was not “decision day.”

However, after minutes of rambling about “ghost poops” during his darkness retreat and his obvious saltiness toward the Packers franchise, Rodgers declared one thing that will make New York Jets fans jump for joy:

“My intention is to play with the New York Jets.”

There you have it. The deal isn’t inked yet, but according to Rodgers’ comments, the longtime Packers quarterback will be a Jet in 2023.

After weeks of speculation, Rodgers said he already made his decision days ago, stating that he feels there was a shift in the Packers’ mentality from before to after his darkness retreat.

Apparently, Rodgers was under the impression that Green Bay would welcome him back after his isolation retreat. When he emerged from his cave, he caught wind of the rumors that the Packers were moving on from him and placing their faith in 2020 first-rounder Jordan Love.

That didn’t sit well with the veteran quarterback, who kept saying (maybe a little too much) how he would always love and respect the organization and appreciate everything he achieved with the Packers in the last 18 years.

“[The Packers] wanted to move on. And now, so do I.”

Had the Packers not so publicly moved on from Rodgers during his retreat, would the quarterback have changed his decision? It’s hard to say.

But let’s stop dabbling in gray areas and finally breathe a sigh of relief. The drama seems to be over, for now, and Rodgers has made a long-awaited decision about his future.

The Jets have been preparing for the Rodgers trade since the beginning of the offseason, recently securing pieces on Rodgers’ rumored wish list including wideout Allen Lazard. When asked about his supposed list of demands, Rodgers debunked the whole idea and replied with this instead:

“I don’t have demands. My only demand is for transparency.”

Says the guy who kept the entire NFL community in the dark for weeks upon weeks.

If scapegoating Mike LaFleur meant the Jets would get Aaron Rodgers, the franchise doesn’t regret its decision one bit. Rodgers told McAfee that there were several reasons the Jets were an attractive destination, one of which is Nathaniel Hackett.

Hackett served as Rodgers’ offensive coordinator for three seasons in Green Bay, and the Jets hiring Hackett as their OC for 2023 wasn’t lost on Rodgers one bit.

Rodgers didn’t specifically drop Hackett’s name on the show, but based on the context, Hackett’s presence in New York meant a lot to him.

With his imminent arrival in New York, Rodgers noted that he saw what former Jets quarterback Joe Namath said about him taking No. 12.

Rodgers responded:

“There will be time for those conversations down the road.”

To cap it all off, Rodgers also told Adam Schefter to “lose his number” (hilariously confirmed by Schefty himself) officially severing relations with one of the NFL’s top reporters. Schefter has been dunked on by Rodgers so many times that he should probably just stop leaking information on the QB.

Pat McAfee is his guy. Get ready for more “Aaron Tuesdays” next season.
