Celtics vs. Timberwolves prediction and odds for Wednesday, March 15 (Wolves strong as home dogs)

Is it time to worry about the Boston Celtics?

Boston is just a game up on the Philadelphia 76ers for the No. 2 seed in the East, and the team lost to the Houston Rockets in its last game.

Now, Boston is looking to bounce back as a road favorite against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who received some good news on Wednesday. Star Karl-Anthony Towns appears to be closer to making a return from a strained calf.

Tonight, Minnesota has several players listed as questionable, including big men Naz Reid and Rudy Gobert. The Wolves hold the No. 7 seed in the West entering this game, but they are just a game ahead of the No. 10 seed Los Angeles Lakers.

Does Minnesota hold on? Hereā€™s a look at the odds:

Celtics vs. Timberwolves prediction and pick

Usually, Iā€™d be all over Boston in this spot, but I canā€™t look past the fact that the Celtics are 12th in net rating and 16th in defensive rating over their last 10 games.

Boston has some tough losses over that stretch, and it has shown a propensity to blow leads as well.

The shooting regression has been a bit of a problem for the Celtics, and now they have to take on a Wolves team that is 10-4 ATS as a home dog this season.

I think the Wolves will be able to cover in this spot, especially since they have defended well (11th in defensive rating) this season.

Since returning from the All-Star break, Boston has just two wins by more than five points in 10 tries.

Iā€™ll trust the trend to back Minnesota tonight.
