NBA best bets today (Predictions for Josh Hart, Bucks-Suns and more)

Tuesday’s NBA slate is full of great matchups, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns in a rematch of the 2021 NBA Finals.

I have a pick for that game in what is a loaded NBA best bets column.

Two moneyline plays, one spread pick, one player prop and one… same-game parlay (!) to get this week off to a strong start after going 2-1 on Monday.

Let’s dive in:

NBA best bets record to date

NBA best bets today

  • Detroit Pistons +12.5 (-110) vs. Washington Wizards
  • New York Knicks Moneyline (-135) vs. Portland Trail Blazers
  • Milwaukee Bucks Moneyline (-125) vs. Phoenix Suns
  • Josh Hart OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-145)
  • Cleveland Cavaliers-Charlotte Hornets Same-Game Parlay (+110)

Detroit Pistons +12.5 (-110) vs. Washington Wizards

Why not start with the ugliest bet I’m placing tonight?

The Detroit Pistons are fresh off a win on Monday night, and now they are massive underdogs on the road against the Washington Wizards.

Detroit is catching 12.5 points against the Wizards? The very same Wizards who have fallen to 11th in the East? I don’t buy it.

Washington is not playing well as of late, ranking 26th in the league in net rating over its last 10 games, while Detroit, who is 1-9 over that stretch, is 25th!

Washington is just 6-9-1 ATS as a home favorite this season, and it only beat the Pistons by two in the last meeting between these teams as an 11-point favorite.

It’s the Pistons.

New York Knicks Moneyline (-135) vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The New York Knicks as road favorites? Nearly automatic.

New York is 7-2 ATS as a road favorite this season, the best mark in the NBA, and 21-14 straight up on the road this season.

Jalen Brunson is doubtful for this game, but the Knicks are fresh off an impressive win without him over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Blazers have listed Damian Lillard and Jerami Grant as questionable, and they’re struggling mightily as of late, losing seven of their last 10 games.

Despite losing three straight games to close last week, the Knicks are still seventh in net rating over their last 10 matchups.

Portland ranks 29th (!!) in that same statistic. Back the Kncks.

Milwaukee Bucks Moneyline (-125) vs. Phoenix Suns

Khris Middleton may miss this game for the Milwaukee Bucks, but Giannis Antetokounmpo returned on Monday night to score 46 points, and he should help the Bucks take down the Phoenix Suns tonight.

This season, Milwaukee is 14-5-2 ATS as a road favorite and 8-0-1 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back.

Meanwhile, the Suns are just 1-2 since losing Kevin Durant to injury and 4-5 ATS on the second night of back-to-backs this season.

Over the last 10 games, the Bucks have the best net rating in the NBA and many of those have come without Giannis. I think they roll with him in the lineup tonight.

Josh Hart OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-145)

Josh Hart is seeing an extended role for the Knicks with Brunson out of the lineup, and he’s picked up seven or more boards in six straight games. Portland also ranks 24th in the league in rebounding percentage this season.

What’s been impressive is Hart’s offensive rebounding, as he’s grabbed at least two offensive boards in four straight contests.

We have to lay some juice, but this should be set at 7.5, so I’ll take the OVER.

Cleveland Cavaliers-Charlotte Hornets Same-Game Parlay (+110)

  • Cleveland Cavaliers Moneyline (-230)
  • Gordon Hayward 10+ Points (-550)
  • Darius Garland 30+ Points, Rebounds and Assists (-425)

The Cleveland Cavaliers won’t have Donovan Mitchell or Jarrett Allen on Tuesday night, but I still think they’ll beat the Charlotte Hornets.

Charlotte lost by six in the meeting between these teams on Sunday, and the team shot 10-for-21 from 3 in that game. The Hornets are 29th in the league in 3-point field goal percentage this season.

As for the props, Gordon Hayward is averaging 14.5 points per game this season, picking up double-digit points in 12 of his last 13 games, including 16 points against Cleveland on Sunday.

For Darius Garland, this is prime spot after he put up 28 points, six boards and six dimes on Sunday. With Mitchell out this season, Garland is averaging 26.2 points, 9.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds across nine games. I love getting him at this discounted number.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
