The first full week of the 2023 NFL preseason will continue on Friday with six games. The Falcons only carry three quarterbacks on their roster and with Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke locked into the top two spots on the depth chart, that should mean plenty of playing time for Logan Woodside.

Top NFL DFS picks for the preseason Week 1 on Aug. 11
For Friday’s NFL preseason action, where every player on DraftKings is priced at $5,500 and every player on FanDuel is $6,000, one of Gibbs’ top picks is Cardinals quarterback Clayton Tune. Over 47 games as a starter for Houston, Tune threw for 11,994 yards and 104 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,248 yards and 15 scores.
The Cardinals spent a fifth-round pick on Tune at the 2023 NFL Draft and with Kyler Murray beginning the season on the PUP list, Tune is likely to back up Colt McCoy to start the year. This preseason will be an opportunity for Tune to convince Arizona to carry three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster when Murray returns and he should get an extended look on Friday against the Broncos.
Gibbs’ optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Giants running back Eric Gray, a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft who starred at Tennessee and Oklahoma that is now battling for a backup role behind Saquon Barkley on the depth chart. Barkley likely won’t play a down on Friday and veterans Matt Breida and James Robinson have put plenty on film throughout their careers.
That should mean plenty of reps for Gray, who rushed for 3,089 yards and 21 touchdowns while also catching 99 passes for 827 yards and five scores over two seasons each with the Sooners and Volunteers. Gray’s final season in college at Oklahoma saw him produce 1,595 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns over 12 games and his overall versatility makes him an intriguing option for Friday’s action.
