The Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks have interest in hiring Bob Myers to run their front office, reports Marc Stein and Jake Fischer at The Stein Line. Myers exited his role with the Golden State Warriors after the 22-23 season and has since joined ESPN in a broadcasting role while also consulting for the NFL’s Washington Commanders.
Myers, who worked for the Warriors from 2011 until 2023, was previously an agent. It is believed Myers will be difficult for the Suns to hire away from his current media role.
Myers, however, lives in Los Angeles and working for the Suns would represent a convenient location for him personally. The Hawks would be a more challenging franchise to imagine Myers joining given their location on the East Coast.
Mat Ishbia has spent heavily on the Suns since assuming ownership in February 2023, but their salary cap situation and dearth of future draft assets makes the front office job a complicated one.
