The 2025 NFL Draft is set to kick off in what appears to be one of the most interesting drafts in recent memory. As the draft approaches, every team currently has their original first-round pick — the latest all the teams have possessed their original pick since the common-draft era began in 1967.Β
The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 draft pick for the first time since 1978, back when the franchise was the Houston Oilers. That pick turned out well, as Earl Campbell was selected first overall and churned out a Hall of Fame career. Would the same hold true with quarterback Cam Ward, who is expected to go No. 1 overall?Β
After Ward, how will the draft play out? Wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and pass rusher Abdul Carter are expected to be selected in the top three, as the Cleveland Browns (No. 2) and New York Giants (No. 3) possess the next two picks. The New England Patriots (No. 4) and Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 5) round out the top five.Β
This draft is also particularly interesting for the New York teams. This is the fourth time in the last eight years the Giants (No. 3) and Jets (No. 7) are both picking in the top seven. This happened just four times before 1970.Β
The New Orleans Saints (No. 9 overall) could be in the market to draft a quarterback, a position they haven’t drafted in Round 1 since 1971 (Archie Manning).Β
The San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins each have the most picks in the draft with 11 and the Minnesota Vikings have the fewest picks with four.Β

Taking Ward at the top and passing on a generational talent like Travis Hunter is risky in my book. Ward is good, not great. They could have waited until next year to take their quarterback.Β
