NBA Fantasy Captain Picks

Are you unsure who to make captain for the Dunkest round? Here are our tips, one for each turn.

Centers

Anthony Davis (Dallas Mavericks, 18.3 cr)

Since his return, he hasn’t had any memorable games on Dunkest, but we believe things will be different in Game 60. The Brooklyn Nets’ defense, especially at this stage of the season, is conceding a lot to opposing teams, and the former Lakers player has the perfect opportunity to start racking up PDK again.

Kel’el Ware (Miami Heat, 10 cr)

It’s hard to find a player who, with such a low investment in credits, has a good chance of surpassing 40 PDK. His spot in the Heat’s Starting Five is now secure, and against the Wizards (another poor defense against Centers), we believe he can make a difference and play an important role for Coach Spoelstra.

Forwards

Julius Randle (Minnesota Timberwolves, 12.1 cr)

Three good performances in the last four games have led us to include the former Knicks player in this column. In the three previous meetings this season against the Nuggets, he managed to surpass 30 PDK each time, but the feeling for Game 60 is more positive. The goal is a solid double-double.

Camara Toumani (Portland Trail Blazers, 10.5 cr)

Debut in our column for the Blazers player. Plenty of minutes on the court for the Georgia Bulldogs product, with decent numbers. The Blazers’ season seems destined to end soon, but the 2000-born player has the opportunity to prove he’s a solid NBA player.

Guards

Spencer Dinwiddie (Dallas Mavericks, 8.9 cr)

Second among the Mavs’ recommended players, but we can’t pretend otherwise. Excluding the game against the Magic, in the last five days Dunkest has brightened our nights with applause-worthy performances, and against the Nets, the story will repeat itself, rest assured.

Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns, 15.9 cr)

Without Durant, he must necessarily step up his game; what he’s done so far isn’t enough to try and lead the Suns to the post-season. The game against the Bucks is far from easy, but Booker’s talent can and must make the difference.

Coach

Jason Kidd (Dallas Maverick, 6.1 cr)

Davis’ return has breathed new life into the Mavs, who now believe in the post-season again. The standings in the Western Conference are very tight, and games like the one against the Nets are a must-win to keep the dream alive.

Quin Snyder (Atlanta Hawks, 5.9 cr)

A similar story for the Hawks, who despite Jalen Johnson’s injury are still holding strong among the top 8 in the Eastern Conference. Direct Playoff qualification seems almost impossible to reach, but the seventh spot (which guarantees home-court advantage in the Play-In) is within reach, just a stone’s throw away.
