ESPN's Malika Andrews, Brian Windhorst Will Be Free Agents Later In 2025

Malika Andrews and Brian Windhorst will be free agents in 2025. Andrews’ current contract with ESPN expires in the fall, while Windhorst’s is up in the summer. ESPN would like to retain both members of their team.

Andrews hosts both NBA Today and NBA Countdown. Andrews also has fans within the NBA league office. Some insiders have speculated that Andrews could eventually have a place on a daytime news and entertainment program.

Windhorst joined ESPN in 2010 and frequently appears on Get Up, First Take and the NBA Today. Windhorst appears to have a strong working partnership with Shams Charania.

โ€œShams is the whatโ€”and Windy is the why,โ€ says one source.ย

Before the start of the 24-25 season, ESPN lost Adrian Wojnarowski to retirement and Zach Lowe to a lay-off. The timing of contract negations for Andrews and Windhorst are believed to be advantageous as NBC and Amazon looks to continue to hire out their broadcasters and reporters ahead of the start of their media rights deals with the NBA.
