Tyrese Haliburton: If Anyone Wants To Play With Me, They Have To Come To Indiana

Tyrese Haliburton was a recent guest on the Pat McAfee Show. In a wide-ranging interview, Haliburton was asked about the topic of recruiting other players to play with him. While admitting those conversation do happen, Haliburton said there’s only one way it works for him.

“The story about me recruiting players to Indiana got blown out of proportion. They made it seem like I was the only one doing it, but everyone was recruiting. I just play in the smallest market, so when I do it, it gets magnified. That’s fine, though,” Haliburton said. “Indiana is a great market. It’s a basketball state. We’ve got a good thing going here, so if anyone wants to play with me, they’ll have to come to Indiana. I’m not going anywhere.”

Haliburton is starting the first year of a five-year, $244.6 million rookie scale extension this season. This offseason the Pacers have also recently inked long-term deals with Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, Obi Toppin and T.J. McConnell.
