Nikola Jovic Progressing In Rehab, May Play In Olympics

Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic has been progressing in his rehab from a sprained ankle, per the team. The rehab is going so well that Jovic may still play for Serbia in the Paris Olympics when they start next week.

Jovic was injured in an offseason workout in Miami. The Serbian national team announced that Jovic wasn’t out for the Olympics, but that he was unlikely to play due to the ankle injury.

The Heat pushed back as to the severity of the injury, which was described as a fractured ankle joint. Miami said Jovic had suffered a sprain, and would need rehab, but that the injury wasn’t as serious as a fracture.

Serbia is in Group C at the Olympics. They open play against the United States and will also play South Sudan and Puerto Rico in group play.
