Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone was interviewed by ESPN during his team’s Summer League game on Tuesday. The topic of what the Nuggets roster still needs came up and Malone was quick to answer with his thoughts.
“Somebody to play behind Jamal Murray,” Malone said.
Murray is Denver’s starting point guard. The Nuggets have been linked to Russell Westbrook of the LA Clippers since free agency opened. Nothing has moved forward with a deal for Westbrook. The Clippers have openly said they are trying to accommodate Westbrook’s desire to be somewhere that he can play more.
Malone expressed faith that the Nuggets front office will take care of filling the hole.
“Calvin Booth’s all over it,” Malone said about finding a backup for Murray.
