Lakers Prepared To Offer Three-Year, $160M Max Contract To LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to be committed to re-signing LeBron James this offseason and are prepared to offer him the maximum three-year, $160 million he is eligible to sign if he opts out, sources tell ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

James could also opt in to his contract for the 24-25 season at $51.4 million and then sign an extension in late August that would pay him $162 million over three seasons. James would make $2 million more under that scenario, but he would not be eligible to add a no-trade clause the way he would if he opts for free agency.Β

James appeared in 71 games last season, averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists and was an All-NBA Third Team selection for the third consecutive season.Β

James is represented by Rich Paul.Β
