NFL Week 17 kicks off with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets. Kickoff at Cleveland Browns Stadium is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. The Browns will have added motivation with the ability to clinch a postseason spot with a win. The NFL DFS player pool will feature a pair of veteran backup quarterbacks with Joe Flacco starting for Cleveland and Trevor Siemian getting the nod for the Jets. Should you target either player for your NFL DFS lineups and NFL DFS stacks? Or would it make more sense to build around a running back like Breece Hall or a wide receiver like Garrett Wilson? Before making any NFL DFS picks for Jets vs. Browns on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, be sure to check out the NFL DFS lineup advice, strategy and player stacks from SportsLine NFL daily Fantasy expert Jimmie Kaylor.
Kaylor is a NFL and DFS expert for SportsLine, who opened the 2022 NFL season by winning DraftKings’ NFL Showdown Thursday Kickoff Millionaire contest. He edged out over 355,000 other entrants in the contest and also has multiple five-figure tournament wins on his DFS resume. Kaylor, who cashed big all season in 2022, has covered the NFL and college football for over a decade as a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, and his background as a former college and NFL player gives him a unique perspective when building his fantasy lineups and locking in his betting picks.
Kaylor hit on epic NFL DFS picks all season in 2022. He was all over Travis Kelce’s four-touchdown performance against the Raiderson Monday Night Football, Kirk Cousins‘ 460-yard, four-TD performance on Thanksgiving Day, and T.J. Hockenson’s 13 catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns in Week 15.
This year, Kaylor has been all over players like Justin Jefferson (11-159), D’Andre Swift (175-1), DeVonta Smith (4-132-1), T.J. Hockenson (7-66-2), D.J. Moore (8-230-3), David Montgomery (121-3), Ja’Marr Chase (12-141, 11-149-1), Alvin Kamara (12-91, 76), Jordan Addison (7-123-2), Jahmyr Gibbs (152-1, 5-37), Javonte Williams (79, 3-31-1), Dak Prescott (331-4), CeeDee Lamb (12-116-1), DK Metcalf (6-143-3), Aidan O’Connell (248-4), and Puka Nacua (9-164-1) in single-game slates. Anyone who followed his picks cashed in big.

Top NFL DFS picks for Jets vs. Browns on TNF
One of Kaylor’s top NFL DFS picks for Week 17 TNF is Cleveland quarterback Joe Flacco. The 38-year-old signal caller has revived his career with the Browns, and it one of the biggest surprises of the 2023 NFL season. In his four starts for Cleveland, Flacco has thrown for 1,307 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and guided the team to a 3-1 record. Kaylor expects a strong performance from Flacco on Thursday night with a playoff spot on the line.
“The Jets have a defense that can be elite, but I can’t imagine they will be overly motivated in this Thursday night matchup with the offseason looming. Flacco has never been a fantasy stalwart, but I like this spot for him. The Super Bowl XLVII MVP is averaging just over two touchdown passes per game as a member of the Browns, and I expect him to have another multiple touchdown game against the Jets on Thursday,” Kaylor told SportsLine.
Part of Kaylor’s TNF DFS strategy also includes rostering Jets running back Breece Hall. The second year pro burst on to the NFL scene in 2022, and was likely on his way to winning last year’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award before a knee injury prematurely ended his season. The Jets have limited Hall’s workload at times in 2023, but he still has an outside chance at reaching 1,000 rushing yards this season. Hall is facing an elite defense on TNF, but Kaylor still believes he’ll be productive.
“Breece Hall is one of the best young running backs in the NFL with the skillset to be a true three-down weapon. The former Iowa State star is coming off one of the best games of his young career in Week 16, where he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and caught 12 passes for 95 yards. I don’t expect a repeat of those numbers, but I do project 100 or more all-purpose yards for Hall on TNF,” Kaylor said. You can see the rest of Kaylor’s NFL DFS picks here.
