Best viral moments from Eagles’ Nick Sirianni, from Super Bowl tears to basking in Dolphins takedown

Best viral moments from Eagles' Nick Sirianni, from Super Bowl tears to basking in Dolphins takedown

The Eagles have been one of the best teams in football since Nick Sirianni’s arrival as head coach. Two and a half years in, the former Colts offensive coordinator owns the best career winning percentage among current coaches (.707), entering Week 8 with a 20-4 record since the start of 2022. Take it back to mid-November of his first season, and Sirianni is a whopping 28-8 in his last 36 games, including playoffs. It’s no wonder his team once again looks like a candidate to return to the Super Bowl.

But win streaks aren’t the only thing Sirianni is known for in Philadelphia. In his short tenure atop the Eagles’ staff, the 42-year-old Mount Union product has gone viral more than a half-dozen times for his, shall we say, exuberance. Love him or hate him for it, it’s hard to deny that Sirianni’s become a perfect embodiment of Eagles fandom — loud and proud, in good times and bad.

In honor of that spunk and spirit, here’s a roundup of all the times he’s confirmed himself as a “Philly guy”:

‘People can’t do it like we can do it’

No one executes the “tush push” or “Brotherly Shove” — the rugby-esque quarterback sneak his team popularized — like Sirianni’s Eagles. Other teams simply don’t have ageless center Jason Kelce, the physical will of QB Jalen Hurts and the seamless timing of the operation. And Sirianni knows it, as he told reporters after another round of successful sneaks against the Dolphins.

‘Is that pretty enough for ya?!’

The Dolphins came to Philadelphia in Week 7 of the 2023 season boasting a historic offense, which notably scored 70 points in a 50-point win over Denver earlier in the year. Sirianni’s Eagles routed them in prime time, leading to this fiery exchange with public-relations staffer Bob Lange: “Stop doubtin’ the Eagles! Is that pretty enough for you, Bob?! F— yeah!”

Basking in the Dolphins’ defeat

Sometimes you might mistake Sirianni for a player on the sidelines. Like on Sunday night in Week 7’s win over Miami, in which the coach could be seen bouncing, gliding and laughing his way to victory. Here’s a guy having the time of his life.

Jalen Hurts intervenes

If Sirianni is known for getting total player buy-in thanks to his player-like energy, his QB is more like typical coaches, preferring an unfazed stoicism. The differing personalities for totally on display when the Eagles faced the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, when Hurts literally pulled Sirianni’s arm down as the coach tried to motion for an officiating decision in front of the cameras. You can just imagine Hurts’ thoughts here: “Not now, bro.”

The pre-game Super Bowl tears

There wasn’t a more stunning, or lasting, image from Sirianni’s Super Bowl debut than his literal tear-soaked face during the national anthem. It was an emotional moment for a perpetually emotional leader.

Nodding to the cameras

The Eagles beat the Giants twice in the 2022 regular season, then welcomed New York to Philly for a Divisional Round playoff game. While outsiders wondered if the G-Men might be able to pull off an upset, Sirianni strutted in celebration of his guys rolling to a 38-7 blowout, making sure the whole world could taste Philly’s confidence.

‘That one’s for Frank Reich!’

Sirianni notably came up under former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich in Indianapolis, but the Colts infamously dismissed Reich during the 2022 season and replaced him with Jeff Saturday, who had zero pro coaching experience. After guiding a close win over Indy, his old employer, late in the year, Sirianni took to the sidelines for a vocal exchange with the crowd. He revealed later that he was hollering to Eagles fans, insisting the victory had been for Reich.

Hollering at the Cowboys sideline

The Eagles beat their longtime rivals to advance to 6-0 in October 2022, but some extracurricular shoving from a Dallas defensive lineman on Jason Kelce got Sirianni hot — so much so that he could be seen yelling some naughty words toward the other sideline.

On the bench in Detroit

The Eagles survived a shootout with the Lions in the team’s 2022 opener, and Sirianni promptly stood on a bench to fire up some Philly fans at Ford Field, exercising his trademark energy.
