The Miami Heat have been laser-focused on their pursuit of Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. But, with little progress seemingly being made on a deal, they may opt to make another deal instead. After all, there have been rumblings of other NBA stars available.
And with the Heat in search of another star, they could find what they are looking for in the trade market by expanding their search beyond Lillard. One option could be the Toronto Raptors, who appear to be on the verge of a rebuild after consistent rumors that they will look to trade their two best players this summer.
Better still, they may not require as much as the Blazers appear to be for their star. That could make a theoretical deal between the Heat and the Raptors more realistic. But with the Heat reportedly hoping to keep a couple of their key players out of a potential trade, that may be difficult to do.
They will have to strike a balance if they want to retain those players and also get a deal done with Toronto. Next, let’s take a look at a major trade between the Heat and Raptors.
