NFL DFS picks, 2023 preseason Week 2: Friday lineups, strategy, advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

Whether you’re playing season-long Fantasy football or NFL DFS, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is one of the most highly-anticipated Fantasy football rookies in recent memory. He’s expected to make his NFL preseason debut on Friday against the Bengals. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft could be Atlanta’s starting running back and appears to be in line for a heavy workload this season. However, with Atlanta likely wanting to protect what will be the focal point of their offense, can you afford to rely on him in your NFL DFS lineups for Friday?

Balancing the upside of a starter in a preseason setting against the likelihood that his reps might be limited is arguably the biggest challenge to crafting a successful preseason NFL DFS strategy. Who should you target in the NFL DFS player pool for Friday’s two-game slate? Before locking in any preseason NFL DFS picks for Week 2 action on Friday, be sure to check out the NFL DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy football picks from SportsLine’s Jacob Gibbs.

Top NFL DFS picks for FridayΒ

For Friday’s NFL preseason action, where every player on DraftKings is priced at $5,500 and every player on FanDuel is $6,000, one of Gibbs’ top picks is Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt. With track-star speed, Hyatt burst onto the scene in 2022 at Tennessee with 67 catches for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a legendary five-touchdown game in an upset win over Alabama.

That performance helped him win the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver and the Giants picked him No. 73 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Hyatt’s big-play ability has shone through in Giants training camp and he’ll have an opportunity on Friday to prove that he belongs near the top of the depth chart at wide receiver.

Gibbs’ optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Panthers wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. The No. 39 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft caught 112 passes for 1,758 yards and scored 13 total touchdowns during a four-year career at Ole Miss. His combination of size, speed and strength helped him rocket up draft boards.

Now, he’s turning heads in Panthers training camp and it’s rumored that he may even emerge from the NFL preseason as Carolina’s No. 1 receiver over veterans Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark. With Bryce Young likely to play significant reps on Friday, new head coach Frank Reich should focus on helping Young and Mingo develop their rapport, with the two rookies serving as centerpieces of the Carolina rebuild.Β See who else to include in your NFL DFS lineups here.
