The months of May and June may be the most entertaining period in the NBA. The tail end of the NBA Playoffs and the Finals set the tone for the NBA Draft that follows and closes out with free agency discussions.
It has been especially true this year. The NBA Finals saw an eighth-seeded Miami Heat claw their way up to fall in the hands of the Denver Nuggets who captured their first title in franchise history. The draft saw generational talent Victor Wembanyama finally enter the league with San Antonioβs first pick. Meanwhile, several teams collectively played chords with reset buttons as soon as the curtains closed on the season. One of the more intriguing deals is the Golden State Warriors acquiring future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards.
After playing three seasons in Phoenixβthe latest ending in an injury during the playoffsβthe Suns have decided to move on from CP3. They dealt him to the nationβs capital, and from there, the former champions in the Bay Area acquired his services in exchange for Jordan Poole and multiple draft assets.
The deal got announced on June 22βleaving the basketball world in shock. Before it unfolds, letβs look at Paulβs history with his new team.
