The Detroit Pistons are in an absolute tailspin, losing nine of their last 10 games and four straight to fall into last place in the entire NBA.
The Pistons are getting blown out on a nightly basis, and now they are 12.5-point underdogs on Friday night against the Toronto Raptors, who are fighting for playoff position in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto hasn’t been playing well as of late either, losing back-to-back games and sitting just half a game ahead of the Chicago Bulls for the No. 9 spot in the East.
Can the Raptors cover in this game after only beating Detroit by four and one in their last two meetings?
Pistons vs. Raptors odds, spread and total
Pistons vs. Raptors prediction and pick
I simply cannot trust the Pistons in this game, as they have failed to cover in four straight games, losing each by 12 or more points.
Detroit is also just 15-18-2 against the spread as a road dog this season, losing those games by an average margin of 10 points per game.
The Pistons have been sitting several key rotation players, including Bojan Bogdanovic, Hamidou Diallo, Isaiah Stewart and Alec Burks due to injury, making their rotation even worse than it already was.
The Raptors have not played the Pistons well this season, but Detroit still had players like Bogdanovic in the lineup for those games.
With Detroit playing its backups and the team way out of any playoff conversation, I expect another blowout on Friday night.
