The biggest spread of the NBA season has been set for the Milwaukee Bucks’ matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
Milwaukee is an 18-point favorite at home in this game, with the Spurs playing the second night of a back-to-back after losing by 35 to the New Orleans Pelicans last night. The Spurs didn’t have Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson and several others in that game, so it will be interesting to see if they return for this matchup.
The Bucks are the best team in the NBA record wise, while the Spurs have the worst net rating in the league.
I may not be willing to lay the points with the Bucks, so let’s break down a best bet in this lopsided game:
Spurs vs. Bucks odds, spread and total
Spurs vs. Bucks prediction and pick
This is just too many points for me to take in an NBA game, especially since the Spurs have won four of their last 10 games and erased a 20-point deficit against the Atlanta Hawks over the weekend.
I do think there is some value on the total if the Spurs sit several players after they scored just 84 points last night.
San Antonio ranks just 29th in the league in offensive rating this season.
The Bucks should have their way with the Spurs’ league worst defense, but if this is a blowout, Milwaukee should sit several players down the stretch.
This total is set for a high-scoring affair, but I can’t trust the Spurs to hold up their end of the bargain on a back-to-back against the league’s No. 3 defense.
