Timberwolves vs. Bulls prediction and odds for Friday, March 17

From the end of February into March, the Minnesota Timberwolves looked

From the end of February into March, the Minnesota Timberwolves looked like a team who was finally figuring things out and could be a threat in the postseason.

They won three straight over other Western Conference playoff teams, but since that point they’re 1-3 and back down to seventh in the West at 35-35.

The Chicago Bulls, a team that is six games under .500 themselves, have a chance to send Minnesota under .500 on the season tonight.

Let’s check out the odds for the Wolves and the Bulls in Chicago.

Timberwolves vs. Bulls odds, spread and total

Timberwolves vs. Bulls prediction and pick

Anthony Edwards is such a fun young player and is going to be one of the next superstars in the NBA, but he needs some help on offense. Against Boston on Wednesday, what was ultimately a 2-point loss for Minnesota, Edwards had 28 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, but without Karl Anthony-Towns healthy, the Wolves just don’t have another offensive threat out on the floor.

Rudy Gobert had 15 points, but he doesn’t strike fear into opponents on that end, and Kyle Anderson had a nice little game, but he’s a true role player.

Over this four game stretch, the Timberwolves are 23rd in offensive rating which is right where they line up for the season. That’s good enough to hang around in a mediocre Western Conference, but nothing more. The difference for Minnesota recently is that their pace has slowed. For the year they’re fourth in pace, but in their 1-3 slide, they’re 13th.

The Chicago Bulls are 5fifth in defensive rating this year and with Minnesota playing at a slower pace right now with Mike Conley running the show at point guard, I’ll take the under in this matchup.
