Monday is the perfect day for a bounce back after going 1-3 in yesterday’s NBA best bets, especially since we’re still up double-digit units on the season.
Tonight, I have my eyes on a total, spread and a player prop for Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who looks to be heating up again after a big game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Here are today’s picks:
NBA best bets record to date
NBA best bets today
- Utah Jazz +7.5 (-110) vs. Miami Heat
- Indiana Pacers-Detroit Pistons UNDER 228 (-110)
- Jayson Tatum OVER 3.5 3-Pointers Made (-105)
Utah Jazz +7.5 (-110) vs. Miami Heat
One of the most profitable bets this season has been fading the Miami Heat as home favorites, as they are just 8-21-2 against the spread in that spot.
The trends line up beautifully in this contest, as Utah is 16-9-1 ATS as a road dog so far this season.
The Jazz have listed Jordan Clarkson as questionable, which could change this game a bit, but Miami is coming off a bad overtime loss to Orlando and has been one of the worst offenses in the NBA this season (26th in offensive rating).
Meanwhile, the Jazz are seventh in offensive rating and actually outrank the Heat in net rating. I’ll gladly take the points with Utah tonight.
Indiana Pacers-Detroit Pistons UNDER 228 (-110)
This line is already crashing down, and for good reason. There are a ton of rotation players out for both teams in this game.
Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin, Myles Turner and T.J. McConnell are all listed as out for tonight’s game for the Indiana Pacers and Buddy Hield is listed as questionable.
For Detroit, Jaden Ivey, Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks, Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Stewart and Hamidou Diallo all won’t suit up. That’s less than ideal.
The Pistons have been one of the worst offenses (27th in offensive rating) in the league all season, but the key here is how much worse the Pacers are when Haliburton sits.
On the season, Indiana has an offensive rating of 113.6, good for 18th in the NBA. However, when Haliburton is out of the lineup that drops to 110.7, which would rank 26th in the NBA.
Grab the UNDER before this number continues to drop.
Jayson Tatum OVER 3.5 3-Pointers Made (-105)
Jayson Tatum should have a field day from beyond the arc on Monday, as the Houston Rockets allow a league high 14.7 opponent made 3s per game this season.
Tatum has turned around his poor shooting as of late, hitting five, six and six shots from beyond the arc in his last three games.
Earlier this season, Tatum shot 6-for-16 from 3-point range in a blowout win over the Rockets, and he’s attempting 9.4 shots per game from beyond the arc. If he keeps up that usage, this is a perfect spot for Tatum to find the bottom of the net from deep four or more times.
