Al Horford was the active player with the most playoff games played without an NBA title. The Boston Celtics 2024 NBA Finals victory took Horford off that list forever.
In the aftermath of the Celtics title win, Horford was asked how long he plans to keep playing. He didn’t commit to anything, but Horford said he’s not planning on retirement yet.
“For me, I never really put a timeframe on it,” Horford told ESPN. “I want to make sure that I feel healthy, that I’m enjoying what I’m doing and for me, thankfully, I have my wife’s support and my family’s. That’s a big deal to me. … I feel like I’ve been asked this for a few years now and I feel good, I want to keep playing. Why not keep going? I don’t want to limit myself.”
Horford has one year remaining on the two-year extension he signed with the Celtics a year ago. Multiple Boston teammates called Horford out as the player they are most happy for with the team winning the championship.
