As part of the 2024 My Wish series we bring you the story ofΒ BradeeΒ Vance, a young man from Fort Gay, West Virginia who grew up loving the game of basketball and the Duke Blue Devils. At the age of 13Β BradeeΒ was diagnosed with a rare disease that required a live-saving kidney transplant. In dire need of a donor, his aunt Kristy Watts volunteered to give her kidney. After a successful surgeryΒ BradeeΒ bounced back and was even able to play basketball again. We surprised him at halftime of one of his games and revealed that his wish to see a Duke-UNC game in Durham had been granted. In Durham, we followedΒ BradeeΒ for two days as he had the opportunity to tour the Blue Devil basketball facility, meet CoachΒ ScheyerΒ and the entire team, and even spent some one-on-one time with the legendary Coach K, all before attending the game. Chris Connelly reports.
