Is Andrew Wiggins playing tonight? Latest update for Warriors at Mavs

The Golden State Warriors have fewer than 10 games remaining in the reg

The Golden State Warriors have fewer than 10 games remaining in the regular season, and despite being the defending champs, are still fighting to make the playoffs. Currently, they are sixth in the Western Conference, but they are just two games up on the New Orleans Pelicans, who are in 12th place.

With so few games remaining, they stand a decent chance of making the postseason but may have to do so without one of their best players. Warriors star Andrew Wiggins has missed significant time of late, and the team could certainly use him back, but will he be?

Andrew Wiggins’ status for the Golden State game at Dallas on March 22nd

Wiggins is listed as out for Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks due to personal reasons. Wiggins has missed the team’s last 16 games due to personal reasons.

When will Andrew Wiggins play?

It is unclear when Wiggins will play again. While his absence isn’t injury-related, the personal matters that he is attending to have already kept him out for more than a month. Without any news on a possible return, the Warriors have taken steps such as converting Anthony Lamb to an NBA contract.

That makes him playoff eligible, suggesting that they aren’t expecting to have him back in the immediate future. If the Warriors have another long playoff run, that could potentially open the door for Wiggins to return this season, but that is only speculation.

Golden State’s full injury report

Joining Wiggins on the injury report is Andre Iguodala, who is out with a fractured wrist. Ryan Rollins, Gary Payton II, and Ty Jerome will also miss Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Golden State’s next five opponents

Following their game against the Mavericks, the Warriors will have a four-game homestand. That homestand comes at the perfect time. Golden State has won more than 80% of their games at home, and winning at least three of those four upcoming games could all but guarantee them a spot in at least the play-in tournament. After all, the Timberwolves and Pelicans are behind them in the standings and can’t afford to lose to the Warriors. Here are the Warriors’ next five games:

Friday, March 24: Philadelphia 76ers, 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 26: Minnesota, 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 28: New Orleans, 10:00 p.m.
Friday, March 31: San Antonio, 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, April 2: Denver, 8:30 p.m.

Overall, it appears that the Warriors will be without their all-star wing for the foreseeable future.
